Monotowns as an object of state regulation: review of international and Russian practices

The article is devoted to the analysis of practices of stateregulation of single-industry towns in the global and Russiancontexts.Themainapproachestotheconceptofsingle-industry towns are given, and the key problems ofmonoprofile formations are described. Based on the analysis ofstate policy, the main factors that contribute to themodernization of single-industry cities are formulated. Anassessment is given to the Russian approach to supportmonotowns.
