Moral and metaphysical characteristics of secular bioethics: a review of literature

This article describes the contemporary state of official bioethics in society and draws comparisons between its moral and metaphysical characteristics and the teachings of traditional Christianity. The author analyzes the concept of morality in secular bioethics and its influence on decision-making in issues in medicine involving life, childbirth, and death. The author indicates the main points of disagreement between secular and Christian approaches to problems in bioethics.
