The article armed to analyze morphologically the regenerates placed on the experimental nonfull-thickness defects of hyaline cartilage in canine knee. The results of spontaneous regeneration, mechanical debridement, and cold ablation using radiofrequency device "Atlas" ("ArthroCare", US) were monitored during 16 weeks after damage. The beneficial effect of cold ablation was revealed as more early and whole restoration of articular surface (smoothing), the increase of chondral tissue ratio in regenerates, as the decrease of vascularization and growth of connective tissue. Regarding the pathologic regeneration in chondrocyte claster formation to late terms of experience the effect of cold ablation was called in question.
