Morphological variability of Plagiorchis elegans (Rudolphi, 1802) (Trematoda: Plagiorchiidae) from type lizards of Middle Volga region

The variability of morphological features of trematode Plagiorchis elegans from sand and viviparous lizards of the Samara and Chuvashiya regions is investigated. It is shown, that the population of P. elegans in one host species from each region is presented by rather isomorphic groups. At the same time, the basic studied morphological features of the parasite, as a whole, vary over a wide range.
