The morphotypes of zircons in the telposs conglomerates (Pre-Polar Urals)

Zircons from basal conglomerates of Telposskaya Formation at the waterhead of the Telpos River (Mayak Mt.) in the zone of the uralide/preuralide interformational contact have been studied. Five zircon morphotypes were determined. The features of the zircon structure and inclusions suggest their supply from various sources — Prepaleozoic terrigenous and magmatic rocks with various structure; and the lack of muscovite and pyrophillite specifies their presence in the weathering crust.
