Recently in Russia is actively pursuing the policy of strengthening the sphere of family placement of children left without parental care. Despite the relevance of the issue of missing tools for effective diagnosis of potential adoptive parents. Studies of the host families are small, and successful adoptive families with an adopted child over 1.5 years, is actually missing. Revealed that the formation of parenting is influenced by several factors: the orientation and individual personality characteristics; harmonization of the models of parenting of both spouses; the specific living conditions of the conjugal family. All this is reflected in the mind and "social psyche" in accordance with the personal characteristics of each and determines its reproductive motivation and the motivation of the adoption of the child in the family. Thus, before psychological science arises an important question about the development of psychodiagnostic tools, aimed at the selection of candidates and host families. In the study described the features of the motivational structure of a successful foster parent. Have been revealed peculiarities of motivation of two groups of respondents, which can act as potential candidates for foster parents – they are mothers with own children and female students of humanities.
