In the article on the data of the Perm tradition the motivational models of the nomination of spirits, obsessing a man, are regarded. The motivating domains determining the nominations “Demon”, “Man”, “Animal” and “Subject” are identified. The most productive semantic domain is “Man”. It includes the following motivational groups: man’s names (including proper names), man’s actions, pronounced sounds and articulated speech. A significant role in production of the spirits’ names is played by the motivating group “Man with supernatural abilities”. The second significant domain is “Animal”, which contains entomological lexis. Thus, the principal motivational models of the nomination of spirits “obsessing” a man are anthroponomical and zoonimic.
