This article examines the essence of motivation as the most important feature of a court decision. The author points out that a court decision is one of the acts of the exercise of judicial power. The court's decision resolves the civil case on its merits, transforms the disputed legal relationship into an indisputable one. As an objectified form of expression of the court's position in a civil case, the court's decision must comply with the requirements of legality and reasonableness. However, the science and practice of jurisprudence indicate that, along with these requirements for a court decision, motivation is of no small importance.
