Motives of petroglyphs from the Lower Amur region in the ornamentation of pottery vessels

The article traces the connection of motifs and images of petroglyphs from the Lower Amur region with ornaments on pottery vessels in the Neolithic and medieval cultures of the Amur region. Anthropomorphic and zoomorphic images of the Lower Amur petroglyphs are found in the decoration of ceramics from sites such as Kondon, Suchu Island, and Voznesenovka, as well as on medieval pottery of the Jurchen era, which allows describing the distinctive artistic tradition of the ancient population of Amur and Ussuri as highly influential.
