Municipal economy: terminological analysis

The article conducts a comprehensive study of the term “municipal economy”, since the conditions of modern economic uncertainty reflect the need for a deep study of the issues of socio-economic development of territories, which should begin with a terminological analysis. The article reflects the conclusions about the extent to which this economic category has been studied by scientists at the present time, as well as how it has changed under the influence of evolutionary transformations. The analysis carried out makes it possible to identify the identification of terms and, by using the evidence base, to develop one’s own judgment. The article provides the author’s understanding of the term “municipal economy”, that is, the interpretation of the concept is reflected with a clear study of each component included in this economic category. The term “municipal government” is investigated as an important element of the municipal economy and the distinctive features of this economic system are given. The author studies the interconnection of the elements of municipal government in order to present his own interpretation of this concept. It is concluded that the municipal economy as a science requires a deep study of theoretical and conceptual aspects, since the development of territories and the development of an effective socio-economic policy for them is impossible without a clearly studied scientific base.
