Muslim committees of Crimea in the system of German propaganda

The article considers the processes of formation of Muslim committees in the Crimea, their role and participation in propaganda activities under the conditions of the occupation regime. The committees that existed from 1941 till 1944 were not able to gainautonomy but were fully dependent on the SD and military propaganda bodies.Despite the fact that the main activity of the committees was to recruit people into volunteer battalions by organizing rallies, through religious meetings and the press, the Tatar political elite tried to popularize the ideas of the independent Crimea among the civilian population.
