The state museum of fine arts of Tatarstan Republic and its role in the development of cultural and educational tourism

The article considers through the example of The State Museum of Fine Arts of Tatarstan Republic, the museum's possibilities in the development of cultural and educational tourism of the region. The authors, on the basis of concrete data, analyze the prerequisites that made it possible to open an art museum in Kazan, investigate the genesis of the museum's development, reveal the most significant facts from the history of its functioning. An important factor influencing the interest in the museum is its representation as a unique monument of architecture, built in the early XX century. The State Museum of Fine Arts of Tatarstan Republic is the repository of unique works of world (Russian, European) arts, as well as the art of Turkic and other peoples living on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan. The article analyzes the events organized by the museum (exhibitions, lectures, educational center, music festivals) that influence the tourist attraction of the museum. The authors outline some problems that hinder the development of the museum as an object of cultural and educational tourism. The object of research is the The State Museum of Fine Arts of Tatarstan Republic. The subject of the study is its activity as a destination, contributing to the development of cultural and educational tourism. The theoretical and methodological basis of the work is composed of works on the theory of the tourist destinations development, studies on the history of Kazan, guidebooks on historical monuments of architecture preserved in the city of Kazan, as well as works on the history of Tatar art, publications about masterpieces of individual artists. The authors draw the conclusion on the role and contribution of State Museum of Fine Arts of Tatarstan Republic in the development of the tourist and excursion sphere of the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan - the thousand-year-old Kazan.
