Museum of Siberia, the north and the Far East: interregional cooperation and contribution to improvement of tourist interest in eastern regions of Russia

Tourist interest in Siberia and the Far East currently grows fast. It is conditioned by the rich history and culture of the eastern regions of Russia, heritage and traditions of indigenous peoples, beautiful cities and ancient architecture, unique natural sites and achievements of famous Siberians. The new private museum opened in 2015, the Moscow Museum and Exhibition Center « Museum of Siberia, the North and the Far East», contributes to the formation of sustained atten- tion of residents of different generations of Moscow, Moscow region, Central Russia regions to the Siberian topics. The article describes the history of the museum’s foundation, the experience of interregional cooperation with the Siberian museums (private and state), education and science institutions, authorities, public organizations and local residents.
