Museum sources of the study dealing with the maritime culture of the Kola North (questions of classification and systematization)

The article considers the problems of classification and systematization of sources of the maritime culture study. The maritime culture is defined as historically changing ways of sea space development. It is shown, that application of different classification schemes (according to historical, ethnographic, departmental aspects) and system models (according to the forms of sea space development) contributes to the creation of the evidence base for further researches of the maritime culture in the historical cultural studies. The museum sources are defined as museum objects (unique or typical) and scientific support materials (mock-ups, reconstruction, copies of documents), which contain information about the cultural phenomenon under consideration. The article gives examples of sources provided by the Murmansk Regional Museum, the analysis of which was conducted by the author on the basis of the study of the permanent exhibition, the fund materials, and the museum catalog.
