Musical socialization of young people: concept definition

The paper discusses music as a resource influencing young people in the conditions of pluralism development in the society of the modern Russia. The author presents results of the comparative analysis of the various approaches to study of the music as a social phenomenon, based upon which the author develops an original definition of the musical socialization. The article emphasizes communicative and consolidating functions of the music, and considers its identity building and world view reflecting potential.
