M.V. Tansky on staying of Russians in Germany in the early days of World War I

M.V. Tansky, medical doctor from Verkhneudinsk, while travelling through Europe in summer of 1914, witnessed the initial phase of the First World War, he spent six weeks in Berlin waiting for leaving home. His memories of that period are kept in the State Archives of the Republic of Buryatia. The notes reconstructed the everyday life of Russian citizens who were forced to stay in Germany, the images of capitals of the belligerent powers, perception of the war by the Germans and Russians. The document extends the knowledge of the first weeks of the war.
