This article analyses and justifies the specific character of relation and mutual influence of thinking processes on person’s consciousness. It is argued that the actual thinking process is connected with the person's mental life in general. The thinking process starts with understanding a problem clearly (problem setting). The problem sets the aim of a thought, and the aim controls the thinking process, which helps to form a new thought representation. It happens by transformation of information, carried out in a complex interaction of mental attributes of judgement, abstracting, reasoning, imagination and task solving. The thinking process provides people with new knowledge or a new activity mode.
