The large solar vacuum telescope (LSVT) was designed to study solar formations with high spatial and spectral resolution. Due to the large size of the telescope, its real spatial resolution may be as high as » 0.4 arcseconds that makes it possible to observe solar fine-structure formations like Ellerman bombs and pores. At present, main subjects of investigation are solar flares. LSVT's research methods - spectral, spectropolarimetric and filter - provide valuable information on physical parameters in the formations under study. Spectra and images of the Sun are registered through interference polarization filter by means of two CCD cameras.
