Initial stages of development and use of the system of natural collections in the work of forensic units of internal affairs bodies (the late 19th - the mid-20th century)

The article highlights the historical periods of formation and use of collections containing criminally significant information in the forensic divisions of the Ministry of internal Affairs. In the historical context, the author considers the development of forms, methods and means of maintaining collections, taking into account the development of forensic science and the transformation of technical means and methods used during countering crime.
