The initial stage of ontogenesis of Picea obovata Ledeb on different soil

We conducted a controlled laboratory experiment on growing Picea obovata Ledeb. on soil of different types of southern taiga forests and clear cuts in Zauralskaya hilly foothill province. We studied the effect of brown mountain-forest and soddy-pale-yellow-podzolic soil of forests and clear cuts on seed germination and seedling formation of Picea obovata. We found statistically significant differences in germinations energy, germination and dimensional characteristics of Picea obovata seedlings grown on soil of different forest types. Successional status (forest - clear-cutting) has the greatest impact on the length of the hypocotyl and cotyledons. We found that the most favorable for the reneval Picea obovata are soddy-pale-yellow-podzolic soil of grass pine forest, less favorable - the soil of clear-cutting of the same forest type.
