The beginning of the church activity of metropolitan Anthony (Khrapovitsky)in assessment and memoirs of his contemporaries

The article investigates the peculiarities of perception of Anthony (Khrapovitsky) by his contemporaries in the beginning of his church and social activities, which initiated formation of his image in the historiography. The author considers principal factors making Anthony (Khrapovitsky) an outstanding church personality.
