Nationalism in Korean society

The article discusses such a concept as “nationalism”, explains that it can have, and has a fundamental importance for the state. This knowledge is necessary for maintaining friendly relations with the DPRK and the Republic of Korea and for successful negotiations. The purpose of the work is to analyze the formation and development of nationalism and its formation as an ideology. This phenomenon is studied with a historical point of view by comparing periods from the end of the 19th to beginning of the 20th centuries up to the present day and analyzing it. The article reflects geopolitical changes on the peninsula and the way they were a catalyst for the formation of the ideology of nationalism, which is now actively used by both countries as a political tool.
