The article examines the legal basis for ensuring the national security of indigenous minorities of the North, Siberia and the Far East in the transitional stage of market transformation. The conceptual features of the Russian legal system on the formation of market horizons for the development of small ethnic societies are revealed. Analysis of the existing legal framework, the object of which is the protection of the rights and freedoms, national values and interests of the indigenous minorities of the North, Siberia and the Far East of Russia is carried out. Priority areas of legal regulation of the criteria to ensure their national security, the preservation of traditional components and priorities of sustainable development are defined. The necessity of introducing amendments to the legislation concerning the recognition of tribal community as a subject of legal relations, carrying out traditional activities, as well as the expediency of further improvement of the legal regulation of market integration processes to ensure sustainable development of small indigenous minorities of Russia on the basis of economic traditional activities of tribal communities have been highlighted.
