National identity: the problem of choosing values

Бесплатный доступ

The article delves into the complex issue of selecting values for national identity in the face of globalization. The author notes that the increasing influence of integrative trends, the scale of economic activity, and the nature of communication links have given rise to problems in the second half of the 20th century. These issues are further compounded by the intensification of migration movements of different nationalities, which often lead to clashes in values. To address this, we employ a comparative dialogue and comparison of forms of philosophical discourse to explore various value orientations such as traditional, religious, universal, and transversal. The development of information technologies has also contributed to changing personal and societal attitudes towards these values when making choices. Given the spiritual worldview crisis affecting Russian society, choosing a national identity presents an opportunity for Russia to avoid dissolving into the global world or getting embroiled in interethnic conflicts and contradictions.
