National minorities in the national relations of Dagestan

Basing upon the study of achievements of the modern historiography, previously published and newly identified archival materials the article covers the history of the formation and development of national minority communities: Armenians, Georgians, Iranians, Ukrainians, Tatars, Turkmens, Germans, Jews (European) and other in the territory of Russia, which is a modern Dagestan. On the basis of the population censuses conducted in Imperial, Soviet and post-Soviet periods of Russia's development, describing the ethnic composition of the population of the Dagestan region of the, respectively, Russian Empire, DASSR within the RSFSR, Dagestan within the Russian Federation, the author shows the population dynamics of national minorities in Dagestan, reflects the process of their settlement or disappearance in this area.
