In the article there are analyzed «The foundations of Russian orthodox social conception», in its connection with the perspectives of civil society building and with the theoretical experience of modeling of civil relationships in Russia, which are represented in modern discussions concerning this problem. Rather noticeable is the fact that the active position of the Orthodox Church in different aspects of social life in modem Russia is due to those forms of «civil consciousness», which are closely connected to the peculiarities of its intentional development and represent its historical society as a cultural and religious commonality of the definite collective identity. The latter provides Russia with the existence succession and imparts to the social life a character of cumulative process. In such context the Orthodox Church stands as a competent institution of a developing civil society, where the interests of the church are enabled both institutionally and doctrinallу, and its civil positions are due to the acuteness of social problems. To latter may refer the church's liability to the society, which consists in rendering assistance in family institution consolidation; participation in the demographical problems solving, struggling against abortions, criminality, drug addiction and alcoholism; taking part in the protection of the health of the nation, in solving environmental and other problems, set for the modem society.
