The article presents the results of the floristic study in the Kubena River basin (within the limits of Vologodsky, Gryazovetsky, Mezhdurechensky, Sokolsky, Ust-Kubinsky, Totemsky, and Kharovsky districts of the Vologda Region) conducted as a part of the regional Red Data Book maintenance. Field surveys of 1999-2022 allowed to identify a total of 442 new localities of 62 protected and 68 rare species of vascular plants. Populations of four plant species listed in the Red Data Book of the Russian Federation ( Cypripedium calceolus , Dactylorhiza baltica , D. traunsteineri , and Isoetes echinospora ) were found. The most significant findings also include the occurrences of Androsace septentrionalis and Littorella uniflora (species of category 1/CR/I). New records of 12 protected species and 25 species, which require scientific monitoring in the region, are provided for five regional specially protected natural areas (landscape reserve “Nyushmenskiy Bor”, natural monuments “Vyazoviy Les Veksa”, “Eloviy Les” near the Kiriki-Ulita village, “Mikhal’tsevskaya Rosha”, urochishche “Temniy Mys”, “Staryy park v d. Gorka”, “Staryy park v d. Kuznetsovo”, and “Olarevskaya gryada”). Outside the boundaries of protected natural areas, 71.5% of the analyzed species (including species of federal protection) were registered.
