Nanoscale composite cytoactive material Litar is effective for the repair of tissue defects in humans. We evaluated targeted tissue regeneration using Litar composite in reconstructive spinal surgeries. We found that Litar had no negative effect of bone tissue one year following the surgery and ensured complete restoration of the cartilage of the intervertebral disc L4-L5. We also found that the solid-tissue component of the L4-L5 vertebrae corresponded to the D4 type of bone tissue and was equal to 265.4 HU. X-ray density of the examined vertebrae was equal to that of intact bone tissue. The density of the intervertebral disc was 145.5 HU (like in intact cartilage), which indicates high efficiency of Litar.
