Nanotechnology in health care is an example of the synthesis of physical, chemical, and biomedical scientific knowledge ultimately contributing to the rise of the health care quality and the improvement of the population reproductive health, which are consistent with the objectives of the demographic policy of the Russian Federation. The purpose of the article is to assess the present and prospective achievements in the use of nanostructures for innovative medical technologies, to warn about the toxicity of nanoparticles, their biological aggressiveness in the interaction with cellular structures of the body. Having penetrated into the cell, nanoparticles are able to deform DNA molecule, causing its genetic mutations and anomalies.
