Ways of improving investment and construction design in the conditions of the digital economy

The paper postulates the development of the digital economy as a key global condition and trend influencing the change in the business processes of design and construction companies. It is noted that digitalization is based not so much on the use of information technologies as on the creation of new methods of decision support and transformation of business processes. Based on the assessment of the dynamics of the use of digital technologies and the digitalization index, the main ways of the development of digitalization in construction are identified. Information modeling is defined as the basic digital technology. State support for the development of digitalization in construction has been substantiated through the adoption of appropriate regulatory documents, the creation of information systems and the implementation of priority projects. Despite government support and incentives, the level of use of digital technologies, including information modeling technologies, remains insufficiently high. The role of creating classifiers and information systems in enhancing the digitalization of investment and construction design is shown. The authors simulated business processes for improving investment and construction design in the context of the digital economy, identified key sub-processes, developed goals and criteria for changing them, on the basis of which basic alternative ways for improving architectural and construction and investment and construction design were identified. The axiom of development of automation of design and control processes is shown. The effects of using information modeling in construction design are revealed. The expediency of digitalization in construction based on the use of BIM technologies has been determined. On the basis of modeling business processes of investment and construction design, a forecast of the development of digitalization options in design was carried out. The development of a digital environment for effective management of the life cycle of objects based on the innovation and automation of investment and construction design by changing the business processes of design and construction companies towards flexible management of resources and communications through effective and relevant information exchange was postulated as a general goal of digitalization in construction.
