Improvement of criminal responsibility for improper duty performance regarding children’s health care and life protection according to international experience

The article deals with peculiarities of criminal responsibility for the improper fulfillment of duties regarding life protection and health care of children in the criminal legislation of the foreign countries. The research suggests that the Article 137 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine requires improvement in the part concerning allocation of the criminal responsibility for the improper duty performance regarding children’s health care and life protection with infliction of personal injury. In order to improve the legal protection of the children’s life and health the author suggests substituting of the aggravating circumstance “other grave consequences” into “very grave consequences” in the Article 137 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
