Directions for the sustainable development of China's oil and gas industry, coordinated with economic and environmental priorities

Being an important supporting branch of the national economy, the oil and gas industry has made a great contribution to the Chinese economy, but at the same time it inevitably destroys the ecological environment and seriously restricts the sustainable development of society. In these conditions, coordination of the functioning of its key elements is of great importance. In this paper, an algorithm for evaluating the indices of the 3E system (energy, economy, environment) is proposed. By combining the principal component method with the entropy weight method, the level of sustainable development of China’s oil, economic and environmental systems from 2005 to 2020 is calculated. A model for analyzing the level of coordination between these three structures has been developed. The results of its application indicate that during the designated period, the indices of the level of sustainable development of these systems showed a general upward trend. This period can be divided into two stages: from 2005 to 2012 - uncoordinated development, from 2013 to 2020 - basic coordinated development. The level of coordination between the three systems is increasing from year to year, and the sustainable development of the Chinese 3E system continues.
