In Azerbaijan, two ideologies, though not for long, but still found a way of coexistence in the political struggle, led to the unique experience of an opposition strategy. Therefore, in the modern period of history, the study of this problem has increased relevance because in the last decade around the world activing protest movement, and, therefore, attempts of radical elements in society to use false rhetoric to achieve their interests will gain momentum. The problem of confrontation between the two ideologies (liberal and nationalist) is manifested in the conflicts between the leaders of the movement. Sometimes they were very serious. However, the General idea and problems helped unite in the fight for democratic reforms even after 1990, when the front left some members of the moderate wing of the liberals. Azerbaijan at the turn of the 90th years of the last century, to unite the liberals and nationalists into a single front helped not only the factors indicated in the article, but the nature of their worldviews, which had a local Azerbaijanis peculiar flavor. Its essence is that both concepts had no hard ideological boundaries and could include elements of each other.
