The article analyzes the problem of «narrative tum» by addressing itself to the twentieth century philosophical and social background. The turn is presented as an expectable reaction to the antinarrativistic predisposition displayed by the rise of European analytical philosophy in the postclassical period. Comparison of the existing concepts of narrativity allows us to define its philosophical message in ethical terms. This inference is of certain relevance to social and political concerns of contemporary philosophy.
