On the basis of the analysis of a wide range of archival materials, most of which are firstly introduced in the scientific revolution, attempts to analyze the process of erosion of the work ethic of the Kuibyshev collective farmers and Ulyanovsk regions in the post-war five-year period. The author based on the statistical data shows that the violation of labor discipline in the public sector was due to objective reasons, namely: social production could not provide farmers with the necessary means for a normal existence. According to the author, the post-war development of the USSR is characterized by a complex interaction of state and society. On the one hand, government institutions have sought to strengthen its position in the economic, political and social spheres, and on the other hand, the very society through passive resistance to make adjustments in public policy. Based on the analysis of a wide range of sources, the author comes to the conclusion that the absence of material interest of the collective farmers in the results of the work done for the peasants work pointless. Work experience in the peasant mentality ceases to be a moral criterion for determining the meaning of life of the rural man.
