Violence and nonviolence as philosophical and ethical categories

The article considers violence and non-violence as philosophical and ethical categories. Definitions of these phenomena are presented, as well as the authors' explanation of the violence concept. It is noted that the basis of the violence is aggression. However, the authors mention the existence of positive aggression, which can manifest itself as competitive spirit, a desire to resolve a conflict situation. The research compares the socio-philosophical and ethical points of view on the categories under consideration, and reveals their diversity.
