Saturable absorber based on aligned single-walled carbon nanotubes

The investigation of aligned single-walled carbon nanotubes was conducted in order to prepare saturable absorber for femtosecond Er-doped fiber laser. The generation of ultrashort pulses in the near IR wavelength range in such lasers was numerically studied. Results show the ability of manipulation of output pulses characteristics by changing the angle of nanotube orientation with respect to the optical axis.
