The article investigates the notion of the popular science text, its structure and principal constituents. Different approaches to the analysis of text structure are described, the integral approach put forward by T.N. Khomutova being the most adequate for the problem to solve. The popular science text integral model is analyzed with respect to its cognitive, social, cultural and language aspects. Perspectives of further research are outlined.
