The purpose and objectives of the study are to study the effectiveness of legal regulation of the issue of popularization of science in Russia through the implementation of popular science tourism by educational institutions of higher education through its inclusion in career guidance work. The importance of scientific developments around the world today does not need to be proved, and therefore the most successful countries pay close attention to the development of science. The task of popularizing science and attracting the younger generation to it is currently set in Russia. Among the subjects that will have to perform it, among others, educational institutions of higher education have been announced, which have not been engaged in such work on a professional basis so far. However, the situation has changed due to the announcement of the period 2022-2031 as the Decade of Science and Technology and the subsequent adoption of the Concept of the Development of Popular Science Tourism in the Russian Federation until 2035, which provide for such a task. In this regard, it is necessary to comprehend the mechanism of its practical implementation by analyzing the existing legal regulation of this type of tourism. The dialectical method of cognition, logical, sociological and formal legal methods were used as the methodological basis of the study, which made it possible to analyze the current legislation, identify its imperfections, consider the object from the point of view of theory and its practical implementation, as well as formulate the author's conclusion. The conducted research has shown that popular science tourism is one of the forms of popularization of science, which can be implemented by educational institutions of higher education, including through embedding it in career guidance work. The introduction of this activity into the work of an educational institution of higher education should be accompanied by the establishment of logistics chains with schools, lyceums, colleges and other educational institutions.
