Scientific research on the territory of the Tunkinsky national park: a brief history

The unique nature and natural resources of the Tunkinskaya Valley have attracted travelers and scientists from Russia and abroad at all times. Scientific activity in Tunka acquired a systemic character with the opening of East-Siberian Department of the Imperial Russian Geographical Society, then its work was continued by scientific organizations of the USSR. A new post-Soviet stage of scientific research began with the creation of the Tunkinsky National Park. The article briefly describes the history of scientific research on the territory of the national park since the 18th century, the focus of academic interests of the renowned researchers of Tunka.
