An academic books and bibliometrics

The state of scientific publishing and the use of bibliometric indicators for different forms of publications are considered. It is shown that the existing system of bibliometric assessments does not contribute to the development of scientific publishing, which adversely affects the fundamental science, education and preservation of scientific knowledge for future generations.
