Some keys to reading Cervantes’ exemplary novels

After a brief review of Cervantes’ narrative prose, the paper offers some keys to reading and interpreting his collection of twelve short novels, the Exemplary Novels, published in 1613. As in the rest of his literary production, Cervantes was able to renovate the genre with an original and significant contribution.
