In the given article the author considers on the basis of the documents of the National Archive of the Republic of Bashkortostan the main measures for providing the supply for manual and office workers in Bashkiria in the early 1930s. The rationing system for bread was introduced in 1929 but problems in the field of foodstuffs lead to the introduction in January 1931 of the rationing system for all vital products. According to that system, only those people who worked in state organizations and their family members were eligible for ration cards. A differential system of separate lists was created, and the inclusion into this or that list depended on the importance of the given organization in the industry of Bashkiria. Depending on the provision list, the product rations were varied. However, the rationing system couldn’t fully make up for the critical situation with the supply and meet the needs for food, although it saved the workers of the Republic from hunger. The tensions in the field of food supply forced the Soviet administration to legalize the kolkhoz trade, and the trading organizations were permitted to make decentralized storings.
