Non-financial development institutions: conceptual aspect

This article presents the results of a study of conceptual approaches to such a modern phenomenon as non-financial development institutions, the importance of which is in terms of its impact on socio-economic systems of various scales. (from the city, region, to the national and international economy) is currently growing. The place that congress and exhibition activities occupy in the positioning, formation of the goals and objectives of the activities of such structures has been determined. The analysis of a number of existing approaches to determining the essence of non-financial development institutions is carried out. A stepwise semantic and cognitive analysis of the concept of "non-financial development institution" is carried out. The previous attempts to classify development institutions are considered and the author's criteria for such classification are proposed, which make it possible to reduce the degree of uncertainty in this matter. On this basis, the author's comprehensive definition of the concept of "non-financial development institution" is given, covering its key distinguishing features. The practical value of the results obtained lies in the possibility of their use in the development of regulatory documents and the development of a system of development institutions as a basis for strengthening the international competitiveness of the economy of the Russian Federation, considering the further intensification of international competition and the increasing degree of uncertainty of the external environment.
