The negative factors affecting the process and results of the expert examination have been considered. The negative nature of the factors of production of the expert examination is related to obstruction of the investigation carried out by falsification, destruction or modification of the expert examination objects. An informational approach to neutralization of the negative factors has been implemented. The information vulnerability of the features of studied objects, information systems and networks, other information carriers has been shown. The criteria for evaluation of the information content of the studied features have been specified. Among the negative factors, the veiled nature of the features, the multiplicity of the studied objects, the imposition of collective belief and others have been highlighted. The effectiveness of the realization of the expert's right to initiative in terms of overcoming the negative factors has been confirmed. The forensic and expert technology has been recognized as the organizational means of its implementation. The necessity of including in their structure a block of operations to identify and eliminate the negative factors of production of expert examinations has been shown.
