The article deals with the significance of Stalingrad in the period of 1941-1942. It highlights the intensification of volunteer activities to supply the front and support the population and soldiers in the rear areas. The activity of receiving the evacuated population is also addressed, using the example of a specific institution - the All-Union Pioneer Camp "Artek". The main aim of the article is to acquaint, through memorable objects, with a unique period in the history of present-day Volgograd through the prism of children's perception.
