This article looks at the application of EEG and EP in cardiosurgery. Results of using such techniques as EEG and EP were performed recent 20-30 years are presented. It is shown significant role of EEG monitoring during cardio-surgery, especially aims to reveal some features of cerebral hypoperfusion and lack of oxygenation. Also analyzed EEG and EP facilities in different temperature modes during cardiosurgery. The possibilities of EEG and EP techniques in aortic surgery were compared. This techniques also allows to reveal degree of cerebral ischemia and damage of brainstem structures during cardiosurgery. EEG and EP are the most informative neurophysiolog-ical techniques available in the cardiosurgical intensive care unit. It was concluded that EEG and EP are effective techniques to diagnose coma, brain death and apallic syndrome.
