Some aspects of determination of the formation of groups of negative-minded convicts in the places of detention

The article deals with a causal complex, contributing to the formation of groups of negative-minded convicts in correctional institutions of the Federal Penal Service of Russia. The special attention has been paid to the analysis of the criminal environment with such negative factors as a desire of negative-minded leaders to seize power, increase their influence on the bulk of convicts and prison officials; constant stress situation caused by the fact of being imprisoned; various shortcomings in the activities of the correctional institutions; impact of the criminal subculture.
