Some aspects of the phenomenon of social intolerance in a region

The paper analyzes the phenomenon of social intolerance, shows its ambivalence and functional inconsistency. It highlights the characteristics of destructive social relations arising from this phenomenon, distinguishes its types. As an example of social intolerance, the author presents the facts from the history of Mordovia, characterizing the development of the Renovationist movement in the Orthodox Church, which became an important stage in the formation of religious intolerance.
