The article highlights some problematic aspects of examining a corpse found in the snow, in particular determining the time of death. Examination of corpses of persons who died from hypothermia is quite common in the territory of the Russian Federation. At the same time, as a rule, there is a whole complex of characteristic macroscopic, microscopic and biochemical signs of death from hypothermia. The examination of corpses located in conditions of low winter temperatures under snow cover, and in particular, the study of the time of death, seems to be more difficult. Snow cover has a specific effect on the processes occurring in the human body after death. The issue of examining a corpse and determining the age of death is important for forensic medical examination and may be of key importance in the investigation of crimes.
